Description
Demonsix was actually the first of the bands to be on Aneurysm Records. With it's first self titled demo James Lam shows his song writing ability. Incorporating a diverse set of styles into the 12 original songs, James uses everything from acoustic rock to all out metal. Even explores with movie bytes and samples on an instrumental piece. Lee Fields heads the line up on Destroy All Monsters. The front man wrote and recorded 90% of the album himself along with help from Niv. This bit of acoustic alternative tackles topics ranging from the dislike of small town life to highway bound ex-girl friend reunions. Garage punk at it's best. Only not in a garage. These guys take a pinch of punk, a smidgin of metal, dab of salt and pepper... and a shit load of improvasation throw it in a room stur it constantly at the volume of 10+ and season with screaming. Now that's good eatin' What exactly does NIV mean? Are we talking about religion? The New International Version of the bible perhaps? Possibly a recommedation to Never Inhale Vapors? Who knows but as for the music behind the name. Niv puts out anything from a saddened instrumental to a comedic look at anything from trumpet lovin to the sniffin of lady's underware. Maybe it stands for Nice Innocent Virgin... naaa, probably not. This metal influenced punk band hails out of Pennsylvania. Their new demo CDEP "Last Chance" includes 8 tunes of punk at it's best. This band is as diverse as it comes incorporating styles influenced by The Misfits, Danzig, & Iron Maidan just to mention a few. James lam's solo project! The man behind Demonsix and Smithbridge slows it down a bit for a 5 tune softy. Do you have a little soft one?? The number Thirteen is usually seen as unlucky. Not in this case. James Lam and Luke Anthony of Smithbridge fame, along with James Park mix up a bit of Punk, Metal, and Country to make a "Whiskefied" record of "Good Old American Crunchry" as Thirteen. |
